2008 TOUR DE GEORGIA - April 21-27, 2008
Back for a sixth consecutive year, the Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T is coming on strong for 2008.
The Tour de Georgia continues as America’s premier, professional cycling stage race and rolling festival. It has challenged the likes of Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer, Mario Cipollini and David Zabriskie. It will again be a seven-day event, and continues to be the longest professional road race in North America, with over 660 miles of racing.
The 6th edition of the Tour will be held April 21-27, 2008 and features a revitalized look:
- AT&T as the new presenting partner
- 12 host venues, including 5 new locations
- new beneficiary, the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
- the addition of a Team Time Trial (Road Atlanta)
All along the course, from Tybee to Atlanta, thousands of volunteers come out each year to lend the support necessary to host this world class event. In past years, volunteers have hailed from 35 states, offering assistance in areas ranging from course marshalling to hospitality help. The Tour has begun accepting volunteer registrations on-line. Close to 4,000 volunteers are needed for the week, so check your calendar, grab a spouse, friend, or club member, and sign up to join the excitement during race week.
The 15th BRAG Dream Team will have the opportunity to ride as a group, led by Coach Atiba Mbiwan, between circuits in downtown Atlanta on Sunday, April 27th. REI is the 2008 sponsor for the Dream Team and will outfit the Dream Team with bikes, cycling gear, jerseys, etc.
For more information on this year’s event, or to sign up for Tour Fan News, register to volunteer or purchase hospitality packages, visit www.tourdegeorgia.com.

BEAUTY BECOMES YOU CYCLING TEAM - June 8-9, 2008
Hello TEAM National Treasures!
This year the Beauty Becomes You Cycling for Seniors 2 day will be the first two days of BRAG, June 8 and June 9, 2008. If you would like to join our team again and ride with our jersey for those days, please let the Foundation know.
Beauty Becomes You is a charity. The intention behind our ride is to raise awareness and funds for the cause. You do not have to collect money from friends. If you have a business or know someone with a business that would like to a sponsor and have their name on the Foundation jerseys, please let us know. This is how we will raise money for the Foundation.
Our mission is two fold. Our primary mission is to bring self-respect and pride to seniors through the provision of aesthetic services including hair, skin and nail care. Our secondary goal is in our tag line…We’re Changing the Way Society Looks at Seniors. That’s where many of you come in – THANK YOU ALL!
